Which espresso accessories should I buy first?
Start with tools that fit your machine and support a repeatable recipe: a suitably sized coffee scale and a tamper matched to the basket. Add a WDT needle tool if your grounds need help with clumps, then choose a knock box or tamping mat for cleanup and support. Check each product’s dimensions and compatibility notes before ordering.
How do I know my portafilter size?
Measure the inside diameter of the basket rim or check your machine manual. The Breville Barista Express, Pro and Touch use 54 mm baskets, E61 and most commercial-style group heads use 58 mm, and many compact machines use 51 mm.
What is a puck screen, and do I need one?
A puck screen is a thin perforated metal disc placed on top of the tamped coffee. It spreads water from the shower screen more evenly and keeps the group head cleaner. It is optional; get dose, grind and distribution right first.
Can I make espresso-style coffee without an espresso machine?
Yes. The moka pots in this collection brew a strong, concentrated coffee on the stovetop, and the CO₂-powered pneumatic makers use a gas cartridge for pressure. Both need hot water or a heat source; check each product page for details.
