What size knock box do I need?
For one or two drinks a day, a compact box around 0.45 L is enough if you empty it daily. If you make several drinks in a row or share the machine, choose a larger box so it does not fill up mid-session.
Why tamp on a mat instead of the counter?
A silicone mat grips the portafilter, protects stone and wood counters and gives spouted portafilters an edge to rest on, which makes it easier to tamp straight.
What is a tamping station?
A stand or board that holds the portafilter flat at a comfortable height, often with slots for a tamper and WDT tool. It frees both hands for distribution and tamping and keeps prep tools together.
How do I clean a knock box?
Empty it daily so pucks do not grow mold, rinse it with warm water and let it dry. Removable knock bars come out for washing; check the product page before putting parts in a dishwasher.
