Which pour-over setup fits your routine?

Choose by filter style, grinding method and how you will heat water. Each setup below is a starting selection you can adjust.

SetupBrewer & filterGrindingCheck before choosing
Everyday glass setup 400 / 600 mL glass carafe; reusable steel filter Stainless steel burr hand grinder Electric kettle: confirm plug and voltage
Simple starter Foldable reusable dripper; bring your own cup Ceramic burr hand grinder Cup opening 76–110 mm; compatible stovetop heating
Electric grinding setup 400 / 600 mL glass carafe; reusable steel filter Rechargeable ceramic burr grinder Charge the grinder; confirm electric kettle compatibility
Travel kit Reusable dripper and 280 mL cup in the kit Hand grinder included in the kit 250 mL pouring kettle needs a separate hot-water source
Glass dripper setup 400 mL carafe and glass dripper; paper filter required Ceramic burr hand grinder Cone paper filters sold separately; compatible stovetop heating
Automatic pour-over setup Reusable steel filter; 160 mL water tank Rechargeable ceramic burr grinder Bring a cup and 2 AAA batteries; brewer does not heat water

Paper or reusable filter?

Choose paper if you prefer a cleaner cup with less sediment and easy disposal of the grounds. A reusable metal filter lets more oils and fine particles through for a fuller texture, and needs rinsing after each brew. Match the filter to your dripper; the Glass dripper setup requires cone paper filters.

Hand grinder or electric grinder?

A hand grinder suits a quiet routine without charging. A rechargeable grinder reduces hand grinding, but needs a charged battery. Both routes still involve measuring your coffee and pouring water; only the Automatic pour-over brewer distributes the water for you.

03 — Meet your essentials

The four tools in a home pour-over setup

Each tool handles a different part of the brew. Choose the ones that make your everyday routine easier.

About this brewing guide

The equipment guide below introduces the Everyday glass setup. Its capacity comparison and 20 g / 320 g recipe also suit the glass brewer in the Electric grinding setup. Simple starter uses your own compatible cup; follow the travel kit’s smaller kettle and cup capacities when brewing away from home. Glass dripper setup requires a paper filter and has its own 18 g / 300 mL starting recipe. Automatic pour-over setup has a maximum 160 mL water tank; do not use the 320 g recipe for that brewer.

CHOOSE YOUR CARAFE

A smaller brew, or more to share?

Both sizes use the same paperless brewing method. Choose by the volume you make, rather than a fixed number of cups.

400 mL

For your smaller daily brew

A compact choice when you usually brew for yourself. The 20 g coffee / 320 g water recipe below is a practical starting point.

16 cm tall · 11.5 cm base diameter

600 mL

Extra room for a larger brew

Choose more carafe capacity when you want coffee to share. Scale your recipe by weight and pour in stages, leaving room as the coffee drains.

18.5 cm tall · 13.5 cm base diameter

Capacity describes the carafe, not a guaranteed serving yield. Grounds retain some water, and cup sizes vary. Keep the brewer stable on your scale.

How to brew pour-over coffee: a 1:16 starting recipe

Use this as a starting point, then adjust to your beans and taste. A consistent recipe makes each change easier to judge.

This 20 g / 320 g recipe is for the reusable-filter glass brewer in the Everyday glass and Electric grinding setups. It is not a recipe for the 160 mL automatic brewer. For the Glass dripper setup, start with its 18 g / 300 mL recipe and a matching paper filter.

Coffee

Total brew water
320 g
Coffee : water
1 : 16
Starting grind
Medium-coarse
  1. Prepare & weigh

Heat fresh water, grind 20 g of beans and seat the reusable filter in the carafe. Place the brewer securely on the scale, add your grounds and tare.

  2. Bloom

Start the timer and pour about 40 g of hot water to wet the grounds. Wait around 30 seconds before continuing.

  3. Pour in stages

Pour slowly and evenly until the scale reads 320 g in total, including the bloom water. Let the water drain between pours so the filter does not overflow.

  4. Serve & taste

Let the coffee finish draining, remove the filter and serve. Note your grind and total brew time so you can repeat or adjust the next cup.

Make the next cup your own

Too strong or too weak? Adjust your coffee-to-water ratio. Sour or harsh? Try a small grind adjustment. Change one variable at a time and taste again.

Troubleshoot your next brew

Sour or thin

At the same dose and water weight, try a slightly finer grind and wet the grounds evenly. Taste again before changing temperature or ratio.

Bitter or drying

Try a slightly coarser grind or cooler water, one change at a time. Roast level also affects bitterness, so compare against the same beans.

Slow draining or too much sediment

Clean the reusable filter, check for a very fine grind and pour in smaller stages. Some fine sediment is normal with a metal filter.

Pour-over setup FAQs

Can I leave out items I already own?

Yes. Uncheck individual products before adding the selected setup. Your choices are kept when you switch between setups. The travel kit is sold as one product, so its six included tools cannot be removed individually; the separate scale can be unchecked.

What comes with my selection?

Your order includes only the checked products and selected variants in the setup you add. The Everyday and Electric setups use a glass carafe with a reusable filter. Simple starter includes a foldable dripper but no cup. The travel kit is one product containing six tools plus its case; its separate scale is included only if checked. Glass dripper setup pairs the glass dripper and carafe with a manual grinder, stovetop kettle and scale; cone paper filters are sold separately. Automatic pour-over setup pairs the brewer, steel filter and marked tank with an electric grinder, temperature-control kettle and scale; a drinking cup and 2 AAA batteries are not included. Coffee is not included.

How does the bundle saving work?

Select 2 items to preview 15% off, or 3 or more for 20% off. Your selection total updates as you choose. Eligible automatic discounts are applied in the cart and at checkout; review the final amount there.

Do I need paper filters?

Glass dripper setup requires a suitably sized cone paper filter, sold separately. The Everyday glass setup, Electric grinding setup, Simple starter, Travel kit and Automatic pour-over setup use reusable filters. Check the details of your selected option before brewing.

Will the kettle work where I live?

The Simple starter and Glass dripper setup kettles use compatible stovetop heating; direct induction requires a suitable adapter. The electric kettles in Everyday glass, Electric grinding and Automatic pour-over setups need compatible outlets and supplied plugs. The travel kit’s pouring kettle does not heat water. The automatic brewer uses 2 AAA batteries, sold separately, to rotate its tank; heat water in the selected electric kettle first. Check each product’s specifications before ordering.

How do I care for the setup?

Rinse the brewer’s filter promptly, clean the glass gently and keep the wood collar dry. Brush loose grounds from the grinder and keep the burr dry. Let the kettle cool before cleaning and keep its electrical base dry. Wipe the scale with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it before charging.

What is a good pour-over setup for beginners?

Choose the Simple starter if you have a suitable cup and compatible stovetop heat source. Choose the Everyday glass setup if you want a carafe, reusable filter and electric kettle in one starting selection. You can remove tools you already own before adding the setup to your cart.

Can I use pre-ground coffee for pour-over?

Yes. Use coffee ground for your dripper and filter. Start around medium-coarse for the reusable-filter glass brewer, then adjust if you grind your own. Uncheck the grinder if you do not need one.

What coffee-to-water ratio should I start with?

For the reusable-filter glass brewer, start at 1:16 by weight: 20 g coffee to 320 g total water, including the bloom. This is water added, not the final drink volume. Follow the smaller capacity and recipe of other brewers, especially the 160 mL automatic model.

Does automatic pour-over mean the brewer heats water?

No. The 160 mL automatic brewer rotates to distribute water, but does not heat it. Heat water separately in a compatible kettle and stay within the tank limit. A drinking cup and 2 AAA batteries are required and are sold separately.
