Espresso Dosing Cups & Funnels
Catch and weigh grounds in a dosing cup, or use a funnel to keep them inside the basket during preparation.
Compare aluminum dosing cups, 0.1 g weighing cups and magnetic funnels. Match the cup or funnel to your basket, and check clearance beneath your grinder.

Dosing cup, funnel or both?
Choosing your coffee equipment
What is an espresso dosing cup for?
You grind into the cup instead of the portafilter, give it a shake to break up clumps, then tip it onto the basket. It keeps the counter clean and makes the dose easy to weigh.
Do I need a dosing funnel?
A funnel helps if you grind straight into the portafilter or use a WDT tool, because it stops grounds spilling over the rim. It matters less if you use a dosing cup that pours directly into the basket.
How do I choose the right funnel size?
Choose the size that matches your portafilter; the magnetic funnel comes in 51, 53 and 58 mm. Check the product page for the machines each size is listed for.
How do I measure a shot without a scale?
A marked shot or measuring cup shows the volume, which is fine for a quick check. Crema inflates volume, so weighing the shot in grams is more accurate for ratio recipes such as 1:2.
