How to Use

1. Choose a tamper that fits your basket. Add ground coffee, distribute it and support the portafilter on a suitable tamping surface.
2. Place the base over the grounds and seat the leveling collar squarely on the basket rim.
3. Hold the conical grip and press straight down. Keep the portafilter supported throughout the press.
4. Release the handle and lift the tamper away. Wipe the base clean after use and dry it before storing.

How do I choose between a 51mm, 53mm and 58mm impact tamper?

Check your basket manufacturer's recommended tamper diameter or measure the basket's inside diameter where the tamper sits. Allow the base to move freely without binding. A machine's advertised portafilter size is not a guarantee of compatibility.

Is the 53mm impact tamper available in silver?

No. The 51mm and 53mm options are black. The 58mm option is available in black or silver.

Does the 58mm ripple-base tamper have a flat underside?

The underside has concentric circular grooves. It is a ripple base rather than a smooth flat base.

Is the tamping force adjustable?

The tamper uses a preset 30 lb / approximately 13.6 kgf tamping force. Adjustable pressure is not specified.
