Set the height for your dose, keep the base level and press straight down. This adjustable espresso tamper combines a scalloped knob, an engraved height scale and a faceted aluminum-alloy grip with a SUS304 stainless steel base.

Choose a 51mm, 53mm or 58mm size to match your basket, in Black or Gray with a Flat or Ripple base. Each size is a separate option; the diameter does not expand or contract.

How to Use

Confirm that the selected tamper size fits your portafilter basket. Dose the basket and distribute the grounds before tamping.
Rotate the adjustment knob to set the base height for your dose, using the engraved scale as a reference.
Support the portafilter on a stable tamping surface. Place the tamper level on the basket and press straight down.
Release the top, lift the tamper away and check the coffee bed before brewing. Wipe loose grounds from the base after use.

How do I choose a 51mm, 53mm or 58mm adjustable espresso tamper?

Use the tamper diameter recommended for your specific basket. These are separate size options, not one adjustable-diameter tool. A 53mm option should not be assumed to fit every basket labeled 54mm.

What does the height adjustment change?

The knob changes the base height to suit the grounds in your basket. It does not change the base diameter. Use the engraved scale to note a setting, then check the result with your dose.

What is the difference between the flat and ripple bases?

The Flat style has a smooth contact surface; the Ripple style has concentric grooves. Your order includes the base style you select, rather than two interchangeable bases.

How does the spring-return action work?

Press the top down to tamp the grounds, then release it. The upper section returns to its resting position, ready for the next use.

How should I clean it?
