Pour Over Coffee Makers & Drippers
Choose a glass carafe, folding dripper or portable brewer for the amount of coffee you make.
Compare reusable metal filters and paper-filter drippers. Check which filters are included and how you will supply hot water; automatic pouring does not necessarily include heating.
Not sure which one: Best Pour-Over Coffee Maker: Choose by Brewing Routine compares them by capacity, filter type and hot-water needs.

Paper or metal filter: which is better for pour-over?
It depends on the cup you like. Paper filters trap more oils and fines for a clean, bright cup. Reusable stainless steel filters let oils through for more body and save buying filters, but can leave a little sediment.
What coffee-to-water ratio should I use for pour-over?
Start with 1:15 to 1:17 by weight, for example 20 g of coffee to 320 g of water. Use water at about 92–96 °C (198–205 °F) and a medium-fine grind, then adjust grind size to taste.
What size pour-over coffee maker do I need?
Allow about 250 ml per mug. A 400–450 ml server makes one large or two small cups, and a 600 ml carafe makes two to three. The single-cup automatic makers brew 160–350 ml.
Do automatic pour-over makers heat the water?
Not all of them. Some automatic and rotating makers only pour, so you add hot water from a kettle; others heat it. Check the heating details on each product page before choosing.
Do I need a gooseneck kettle for pour-over?
It is not required, but a gooseneck spout controls flow rate and where the water lands, which makes extraction more even and recipes easier to repeat. Automatic pour-over makers do the pouring for you.
