Electric Hot Plate for Moka Pots & Teapots
Moka Coffee Without a Stove
Brew moka coffee or warm a pot of tea on a desk, tea tray or coffee corner. The hot plate heats by direct contact, so aluminum moka pots and glass or ceramic teapots work without a magnetic base.
Two Heat Levels
One front dial with off, low and high.
Solid Steel Plate
A steel heating surface with no glass top to crack.
No Magnetic Base Needed
Heats aluminum, steel, glass, ceramic and clay pots.
Detachable Cord
Unplug the cord from the base for tidy storage.

Why a Separate Hot Plate?
For Moka Pots Induction Can't Heat
Many aluminum moka pots do not work directly on induction cooktops unless they have a magnetic base. This hot plate heats by contact, so the pot does not need to be magnetic.
It plugs into a wall outlet as a separate countertop appliance. It is not an induction adapter and should not be placed on an induction cooktop.
Simple Dial Control
High to Heat, Low to Hold
The mechanical rotary dial has three positions: off, low and high. Use high to bring water up to heat, then turn to low to hold or simmer. On the 220 V version, low is rated at 250 W and high at 500 W.
Direct Contact Heat
A Solid Steel Heating Plate
The heating surface is solid steel rather than glass, so there is no glass top to crack. Use pots with a flat, stable base for even contact; curved or ridged bases will not heat evenly.
Coffee or Tea
Works with Many Pot Materials
Use flat-bottom aluminum or stainless steel moka pots, and glass, ceramic or clay teapots suitable for direct heat. The compact footprint fits a desk, tea tray or home coffee corner.
Two Rim Styles
Smooth Rim or Four-Point Rim
Smooth Rim: a continuous rim around a 12 cm (4.7 in) plate, with a 17.8 cm (7 in) body.
Four-Point Rim: four raised points lift the pot slightly above the rim, around an 11 cm (4.3 in) plate, with an approx. 15 cm (5.9 in) body.
Four Simple Steps
How to Use
1. Place
Set the hot plate on a stable, heat-resistant surface with clear space around it and the vents underneath unobstructed.
2. Add Your Pot
Set a flat-bottom moka pot or teapot centered on the heating plate.
3. Heat
Turn to high to heat, then to low to hold or simmer. Supervise the appliance while it is on.
4. Switch Off
Turn the dial off, unplug the unit and let it cool before moving it.
Everyday Care
Unplug, Cool and Wipe
Turn the dial off, unplug the hot plate and let it cool completely before cleaning. Wipe the plate and body with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Do not immerse the electrical unit in water, and follow the instructions supplied with your appliance and cookware.

FAQ
Which plug and voltage version will I receive?
We supply the plug and voltage version selected on this page. Choose for the outlet where you intend to use the product, including when buying it for travel or as a gift.
Why won't some aluminum moka pots work on induction?
Induction cooktops require a magnetic base. An aluminum moka pot without one generally will not activate the induction burner. This hot plate heats by contact, so the pot does not need to be magnetic.
Which pots can I use?
Any pot with a flat, stable base that is suitable for direct heat: aluminum or stainless steel moka pots, glass, ceramic and clay teapots. Pots with curved or ridged bases will not heat evenly.
Smooth Rim or Four-Point Rim - which should I choose?
The Smooth Rim has the larger 12 cm (4.7 in) plate and a continuous rim. The Four-Point Rim has an 11 cm (4.3 in) plate and four raised points that lift the pot slightly above the rim. Compare the plate size with the base of the pot you use most.
Can I place the hot plate on an induction cooktop?
No. Use it as a separate countertop appliance on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
Is the moka pot included?
No. This listing includes one hot plate. Cookware shown in the images is for styling.
