Why a Separate Hot Plate?
Many aluminum moka pots do not work directly on induction cooktops unless they have a magnetic base. This hot plate heats by contact, so it works with non-magnetic flat-bottom pots such as aluminum moka pots, glass and ceramic teapots. It plugs into a wall outlet; it is not an induction adapter and should not be placed on an induction cooktop.

How to Use
- Place the hot plate on a stable, heat-resistant surface with clear space around it and the vents underneath unobstructed.
- Set a flat-bottom pot on the heating plate.
- Turn the dial to high to bring water up to heat, then to low to hold or simmer. Supervise the appliance while it is on.
- Turn the dial off, unplug the unit and let it cool before moving or cleaning it.
Follow the instructions supplied with your appliance and cookware. Do not immerse the electrical unit in water.

FAQ
Will it work with my outlets?
Yes. We ship a 110 V version to the US, Canada, Mexico and Japan, and a 220 V version to our other destinations, based on your delivery address. If you will use it somewhere else, contact us before ordering and we will confirm the right version.
Why won't some aluminum moka pots work on induction?
Induction cooktops require a magnetic base. An aluminum moka pot without one generally will not activate the induction burner. This hot plate heats by contact, so the pot does not need to be magnetic.
Which pots can I use?
Any pot with a flat, stable base that is suitable for direct heat: aluminum or stainless steel moka pots, glass, ceramic and clay teapots. Pots with curved or ridged bases will not heat evenly.
Can I place the hot plate on an induction cooktop?
No. Use it as a separate countertop appliance on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
Is the moka pot included?
No. This listing includes one hot plate. Cookware shown in the images is for styling.
