First: distribute
Level the surface before tamping
Rest the tool on the dosed basket and rotate gently. The concentric pattern moves across the top of the coffee bed to help redistribute high and low areas without requiring a separate leveling tool.
Then: tamp
Press straight down on the prepared bed
After leveling, apply steady downward pressure with the tool held straight. This creates the compacted puck needed before locking the portafilter into the espresso machine.

Keep the wood and metal dry
Wipe coffee residue from the stainless steel base after each use. Clean the body with a soft cloth, avoid soaking the walnut-wood top, and dry the complete tool before storage. Do not use abrasive cleaners on the finish.
